BryWorld Culture Festival will celebrate student diversity with music, food and fun

Brywood Elementary School is gearing up for its eighth annual BryWorld Culture Festival.

Free and open to the community, the event is billed as a vibrant celebration of student diversity, and it will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 4. This year’s theme is “Many Cultures … One BryWorld.”

For those who have never been, the yearly BryWorld Culture Festival has grown to be a pretty big deal locally, with an estimated 1,500 people attending in 2011. This time around, guests can expect to find a playground that’s been transformed into world bazaar, with booths representing more than 20 countries.

The festival will kick off with a “Parade of Nations,” featuring students in traditional costumes, followed by entertainment on the main stage, where students will perform the songs and dances of their heritages.

There will also be a raffle, face-painting, a photo booth and carnival games, along with kettle corn and shaved ice for sale.

Brywood is located at 1 Westwood in Irvine. For more information, click here.
