IUSD schools get a morning jolt courtesy of a small quake near San Juan Capistrano

A 3.9-magnitude earthquake struck at 10:37 on Monday morning near San Juan Capistrano, rattling campuses in Irvine.

By most accounts, Irvine experienced just one relatively minor jolt, and IUSD’s campuses did not sustain any damages.

All schools, which regularly conduct earthquake drills throughout the year, remained in session.

The Orange County Register has more on the modest temblor on its website.
