Recently named a 2012 California Distinguished School, Culverdale Elementary is home to 30 different languages, and almost a third of its stellar students were born outside the U.S.
So it makes sense that the campus would host an International Culture Day.
In fact, Culverdale hosted its 23rd annual International Culture Day this week, featuring food, clothes, art and games from countries all over the world. The Orange County Register was also on hand, providing coverage of the event.
“Close to 50 parents volunteered to represent their heritages by displaying traditional clothing, art, food, games and information from their native Afghanistan, China, France, Iceland, Iran, Israel, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Serbia, South Africa, and Vietnam – just twelve of the many nations represented on campus,” writes reporter Samantha Schaefer.
